Replacing the bearings and shaft of this type of crane boom hinge is even a bigger challenge than on most European brand cranes. There are two spherical bearings installed which cannot be removed in a normal way.
To calculate and design the jacking system for the boom in all directions taking into account the possibility of heavy winds to ensure safety. To remove the shaft with help from STARKON’s Thermal Lance Service and to replace the bearing and shaft of the boom hinge.
The complete shaft and bearings are replaced, and the boom operates as it should.
